Maybe make the mother cat the leader of a gang, with her daughter being groomed to take her place. They operate various questionable businesses--maybe some gambling parlors, and make Aslan prone to gambling addictions (not canon but easy to add), and the male cats are the bouncers and enforcers. They go with the female cat to shakedown businesses for protection and make those with gambling debts pay up.
They like to toy with those that owe them money and bring half-dead debtors to the mom to show they're doing their job properly...
