Hello all, long time gamer gleefully reading here about the return of my all time favourite game. I bought all the 2300 stuff when it was first released by GDW and still consider it one of the richest and most enjoyable backgrounds ever developed. Sadly, my collection was lost in a housefire some time ago but I have mnaaged to scrounge up about 50% again through ebay over the last few years. I know the cD is available, but Ithey just dont compare to hardcopy orginals in my opinion.
What may be unusual about my 2300 experiences is that I have hardly ever used it as an RPG (mainly because I move a lot and dont have a steady gaming group). Instead, I have used it as the setting for many ground and space based wargames. In this the game excels, particularly for smaller sized battles. Full Thrust and Silent Death are mostly what I use for space battlkes, and Dirtside and Stargrunt for ground actions.
The news of 2320's release therefore has me giddy with glee and excitment and I cant wait to get my hands on it. Is there somewhere I can find a brief overview of what happened in the intervening years to whet my appetite? When is the release scheduled?
BTW I am a career military (Navy) guy so if anybody can use that experience for writing, or fleshing out ideas please feel free to drop me a line.
cheers and best wishes - 2009 is already looking brighter!
