• Welcome to the new COTI server. We've moved the Citizens to a new server. Please let us know in the COTI Website issue forum if you find any problems.
  • We, the systems administration staff, apologize for this unexpected outage of the boards. We have resolved the root cause of the problem and there should be no further disruptions.

Hasta la vista, baby.

Well, since I got here I've been nagged constantly and incessantly about my taglines, whatever they were.

I don't take kindly to nagging, having been subjected to an incedible amount of it in my life, and don't acquiesce to naggers because once a nagger knows she can nag you into something, they just keep on nagging and nagging you on every issue.

Well, when nagging at me didn't work directly someonme apparently whined to a mod, who changed my tags without my consent and against my will.

Accordingly, I have deleted as many of my messages a spossible and am saying Hasta La Vista, baby.

I hope all you naggers out there are finally happy.

Ah, well then it was you who did the discourtesy of messing up threads. Good riddance then, sheeeesh

And unlike the Terminator movies that made that catch phrase so repeated, no sequels please.

Heck I agree with your sig in some ways but. Really keep it in the Pulpit it is where all the bad things happen. For a sig think of something apolitical and humorous. It is not the end of the world. Get over it.

Good riddance?

Really, if you can't just not get over yourself and not act so foolishly, then there is no place for you on any board.

That's two boards you've been booted off. Maybe even three if you're also the guy that got booted off rpgnet who'd been previously booted from the SJG boards. That's not coincidence - it's because of your attitude, not because people are out to get you.

JCD -

Avatars and signatures are not a right, they're a privilege. In the case of avatars this is readily apparent - you can only select avatars from a list, IIRC, when I first signed up way back when... - but sigs are even more so a privilege. Their purpose is to give you the chance to personalise your posts with something idiosyncratic, not to continue vendettas and feuds with other posters into the public forum.

The other problem with sigs is that you can't reply to them. What if I were to put into my sig something like "Israel sucks" or "America sucks"? You can't reply to that without hijacking a thread. If I were to start a thread you could quote me and reply to it, but a sig? A sig is like a giant billboard on a webforum, you can't reply to it but it can broadcast its message everywhere.

A perfect example of this is when someone asked you why you and Bill Cameron weren't speaking, inadvertantly hijacking the thread in consequence. It wasn't his fault, as he was only curious. Predictably, he wanted to delete his query when he found out the answer, because no-one likes seeing other people's dirty laundry in public.

Frankly JCD, if you're upset that moderators here took issue with your sig and changed it without your knowledge or consent, live and learn. You don't own the board, you're a guest to it, and they're your hosts. Also, when you develop vendettas with other people the better part of valour would dictate dealing with it in a discrete manner. The rest of the board doesn't care if you have a problem with SJG Forums or Bill Cameron or whoever.

Stofsk,

Don't drag me into this nonsense please.

I answered a legitimate question and left it at that. As for not 'speaking' with J.C.D., you'll find three or four threads in which I responded directly to his posts and queries even after he added his infantile "CURRENTLY IGNORING" tagline.

He was asked to remove the politcal portions of his sig, took umbrage, and left. AFAIK, he was not asked to remove the portions of his sig that referred to me. What's more, I never asked him to remove that portion of his sig or reported that portion of his sig to the forum moderators. J.C.D. could have used a sig that said I blew dead bears and I wouldn't have blinked.

He was banned from the SJG forums for reasons I ma not privy to. When he tried to circumvent that ban with an absurdly clumsy lie, I and many others called him on it, so he was banned again. He obviously blames Andrew Hackard for the first ban and myself for the second. However, we all know who is really to blame.

I wasn't. Someone ELSE asked the question to JCD in another thread, which was my point. That guy inadvertantly caused a thread hijack - and I wasn't blaming him, btw, since really it wasn't his fault - and that's why you don't put controversial or political messages in sigs.

My point is that JCD had his sig edited because it was causing distruption, and I fully support the moderator decision to do so.

Hi JCD

It is a shame for you to go, because coti is a great community to be part of. I agree with the moderator however, who deleted your ridiculous reference to Bill Cameron. You can't personally insult people like that. We welcome all intelligent debate and contributions however.

regards

Michael

He hasn't been booted off here, or has he? He just left. I actually hope he'll cool down and come back. I'd hate to see my theory that no fan community is too small for destructive infighting proven yet again.

J.C.D.: I agree with Michael for the most part. If you're still reading: Just participate normally here and ignore - without making a big announcement out of it - those you have a beef with, for whatever reasons. As for the political sig: There are certainly a lot of people who would agree with it to some extent, but this board has been refreshingly politics-free in the past and I, for one, am am happier this way.

Regards,

Tobias

JCD, you sprocking moron. You didn't have to delete the threads that you created. There were some good discussions going on there.

Thanks for wasting the time of everyone who decided to post on those threads.

I don't think JCD was banned. JCD just left in a huff after doing as much damage as possible so as to feel that some form of retaliation had been committed.

Since J.C.D. is apparently deleting entire topics, everyone should remember not to post to them should any new topics appear with that user name as creator.

Remember, if J.C.D. hasn't been banned, then this topic can still be deleted!

He still has six other threads he started that haven't been deleted.

It's a shame that some of them have gone - there was some good stuff amongst them.

I actually thought he had some really good ideas and points. He'll be back, most likely. Malenfant left in a huff and came back (glad you're back, dude). A lot of other people disappear and come back. It's still CotI and we're still here.

Well, they know our names anyway Jeff, most people here use a nickname. I use my real name just in case I meet somebody at a convention or vacation trip.
