Heretics of the TNE, and why

IMTU usually starts early enough. (1000 these days!!)

that the schism between NE and GURPS never is an issue for the PC's.

Frankly I had little use for the shattered imperium and played my MT driven games in the early 1100's.

TNE AND T4 I missed almost completely. The only reason I know anything about t4 is that I was gifted with the OOP core rule book... in 1999.

I think Liam and a couple of others put their finger on the core problem with the debate.

It's all moot. Who care's what's canon or what's not?

If it get's used IYTU great. if it's your idea and it get's published RIGHT ON DUDE!... but... other than that it appears the debate is mostly um...a lot of energy spent saying 'MTU is better than YTU' pardon me if that offends. maybe I'm missing something?

Not that it's a -waste- of energy mind you, I'm picking hints of all sorts of cool stuff from reading what you write. and if it entertains you...

shrug.

One man's meat...and all that.

In the world of writing, getting published makes you an professional writer (or is at least a sign "you have arrived". In Traveller, some define that as canon. Whether in a periodical/ supplement/ or hard-soft cover sourcebook...
Its the golden Rule, GAB, ALanb. Bottom Line.

btw, thank you GARF. Your insight is, as always, cutting to the bone, and sloughs thru the fatty stuff. ;)
