[HG revamp] Ship data format

I'm slowly making progress on my HG revamp project, with the design system basically done and the combat system in a rough draft stage. I have two different formats for presenting ship data, one MegaTraveller-like, one with a USP. I'd like some opinions on which one you consider better and why. :)

PDF with the two formats linked here.

MT-like is nice for the clear view of components on a ship as a master sheet.
The classic UWP version is easier to use for followup documents (example; Combatant sheets in modules, battlesheets descriptions, etc).

I've always liked the MT look, but the classic view does have a specific usefulness IMO. It is shortened version.

Okay, but if you had to pick one, which would it be? :o

Also, anybody else have any ideas? Any interest in a project like this at all even?

Perhaps you should poll it. I always preferred MT but that's not suggesting the brevity of CT does not add great value.

If the project is to build an entire set of ship cards for T5 then its interesting but a generic template should be the first stop.

I prefer the T20 version of HG layout, myself. (Of course, that's because I had a hand in shaping it.) It's very much like the MT one.

Errr... this is not for T5. It's for a revamp of High Guard, based on HG2. I detailed where I'm going with this in an earlier thread. It could maybe be compatible with T5 (which doesn't have a HG equivalent yet, as I see it).

Just my two centi-creds, but what about both? Maybe like this:

Brief High Guard Synopsis maybe with only the primary line with batteries and squadrons info, followed by:

MT info format, followed by;

Detailed description, followed by...;

VARIANT INFO!!!!! in both HG and MT terms.... Instead of making us guess what they are for once.

Thus, you get the best of all worlds in an easy to read format that doesn't leave the end user with more than 5 to 6 pages stapled or clipped together for each ship? (Yes, I have binders of ships with each version of each ship behind a face sheet that has consolidated stats for my CT variant game.)

Y'all make me work too much!

Yeah. I see that HG2 point and I like the idea. I think it was my way of dropping a hint.;)

Hi,

I prefer the USP, simply because I'm new to MegaT and not actually tried to design any ships in it.

Regards

No need to worry there, the design system of my revamp is a modification of HG2. Considerably below MT in complexity. :)

This is simply about how to present ship data.

Hey, sorry for the late reply, but thanks for all the feedback. Been a bit busy with RL stuff lately.
