Welcome to the new COTI server. We've moved the Citizens to a new server. Please let us know in the COTI Website issue forum if you find any problems.
We, the systems administration staff, apologize for this unexpected outage of the boards. We have resolved the root cause of the problem and there should be no further disruptions.
Okay thanks. I was more concerned with the worlds mentioned in the DGP Aslan and Solomani map. I'm guessing the data is made up, but as per the map notes, that the star positions are congruent with what was published.
I was more concerned with the rimward areas like Canopus and the Ustral Quadrant (subsector). I think the DGP Aslan and Solomani supp has that region all mapped out, but I sold mine back in 1992.

In DGP: Solomani & Aslan, Canopus & Ustral have stellar dot-map positions and clients-state polities named on a regional map, but nothing more. There are no indvividual star-names or world-descriptions.
The status of every sector is shown when clicked (or centered). You can alo look at http://travellermap.com/doc/credits which lists the data source for every sector.

My concern is that if I write something up, that I keep it consistant with what is canon. Since Don contributes heavily to the map, I can only assume that much is considered canon, but things that do not appear in any published supplement, are up for grabs.

Unless it's published by FFE or Mongoose, it's not canon, anyway, so... don't be stressing over it. It'll most likely get overwritten if it gets done later by Mongoose, anyway
As noted on the credits page, Ustral Quadrant (originally fleshed out by HIWG) is under review by Don & co. at the moment. If you have issues with the data there, seen him feedback.
I don't know if there's anything under development in Canopus and (as the site says) it's just someone's vision of it. However, if you're gonna submit things that flesh out the OTU, Don and Marc will presumably get roped in to review it, resolve any contradictions, and note any additions it makes to the OTU so that future works fall in line with it.
No, no issues. I just don't happen to like the Foreven restriction, particularly when the Imperium and her neighbors are so untapped in terms of setting. That, and the supp Saberdog and I are casually milling about at the moment, needs to have some Terran roots or lore associated with it, so it makes sense to put it either within or around Solomani space.

Why not simply go ahead and go outside of the OTU, using Traveller as a jumping point? State that your Universe requires Traveller to play it, and not worry about what is canon or not.
