How do you pronounce....

I'm curious about how people pronounce "Solomani" and "Vilani"

Being a Latin teacher, I've always pronounced the final "i" like an English long "e"--i.e., it rhymes with "pea" or "me".

Does everyone else pronounce them that way, or do you make them rhyme with "sky"?

Yep. with an "ee" sound. But, sometimes I pronounce Solomani with a hard i when referring to a specific person. (shrugs) Don't know why.

I rhyme the Solomani on "me" and accentuate on "ma" - soloMAni...
I pronounce the Vilani something like "Weelanee" with the a like in "father" (I am a german native speaker - thats also my usual excuse for my spelling and grammar faults ;o) )

My recolection is that this is the correct pronunciation. Something about there not being an equivelant of the letter "V" in the Vilani alphabet.

First contact with Vilani by Earthlings was made by some ethnic group whose language uses the letter V where English uses a B (Russians maybe?). Not sure how acurate that story is but I remember seeing that somewhere.
