How reliable is FFE?

(tl;dr summary: FFE is reputable and responsive. Do not hesitate to deal with them.)

I can't speak for foreign orders; remember that your own national post office will be handling final delivery, and that Customs/Border Control/Import Office will undoubtedly be involved as well, and adjust your expectations accordingly.

That said, I have ordered from FFE several times, and only had to follow up on one of those orders - and when I did query it, a duplicate order was sent out almost instantaneously, no questions asked, which I received in short order. If all mail-order or web commerce worked as well as FFE does, I doubt very much that it would have the somewhat smudged reputation that it does.

Well, Hungary is just fine in terms of getting things once they arrive in the country (at least, according to the customs stamps and such on packages). Turnaround once it hits the country is usually within the same day, or the next day at worst (now, five years ago...different story). So that doesn't worry me.

But good to FFE (meaning really MWM) is quick and efficient in dealing with issues. As everyone seems to be saying. So glad I paid him my money directly (the paypal notice DID say I was paying MWM directly; not even FFE as it were). So, the good news about the company is making me relax! Just can't wait to get my book(s) in my hands! :)

I've only dealt with Marc once but it was a great experience and anything I want Traveller wise will come from FFE.

Leitz

My dealings with Marc have been equally as good. Quick turn around, and never a problem.

I've ordered twice from FFE for delivery to the UK, first time was the Books, Supplements and Short Adventures and Mr Miller was kind enough to sign the first one! Second time was the CD. On both occasions the delivery was quick and well packaged.

Good to know! After all, you're on this side of the pond...;)

Question though - do you happen to remember HOW quick? I've only received the initial email saying that paypal indeed paid MWM; no other word yet, though I'm sure if I'll even be hearing from him actually (meaning, does he email you that he sent it?). Just wondering as I'm quite anxious to get my hands on my book!

If you are anxious, you can email farfuture@gmail.com. But I don't recall him sending out, for example, an email stating your order is received or shipped.

Little update: Marc W. Miller HIMSELF sent me an email to tell me my order would be shipped tomorrow. Fun times ahead!

So, customer service = awesome. :)

Second Little Update: it's day 18 of "the Sending" and still haven't received the book. Interesting because, usually, things from the States get to Hungary pretty quick (2 weeks at most). Unless it's the "season" that's tying it up? Hmm. Makes me wonder...and sad. :(

Best update: book just arrived! How's that for speaking of the devil? ;)

;) Marc must have paid extra to have the post man wait outside your door until you complained about the late package. LOL
