What marks or decorations of merit can you think of for other races? Armor decor for distinguishing Vargr? Tassels, bells or other whistles for Aslan robes or uniforms? Eye stalk rings for Hivers?

throughout human history we see many physical forms of awards - face paints, scars, head-dress, sashes, animal skins, crowns, staves, even prosthetics. what other kinds of imperial (and planetary) awards are there besides the recent western indo-european tradition of medals?

(not to mention vargr - they might carry vials emitting certain odors ....)

with Regards to the Vargr I remember seeing in the traveller adventure a belt with disks.... there is an idea there. Or there is always the finger bones and teeth of your enemy bronzed. on a necklace. The Aslan would be something BSG (RDM) on a sash..with Aslan script. Zhodani I am looking to a mixed Soviet style / BSG (RDM) awards system. Solomani is easy.... K'Kree I try not to think about.
