Jump Time Questions

...Do you mind if I adopt it as my signature line??
By all means - go right ahead! :D

As to the OPs questions:

IMTU, a jump drive is used to make a jump, then to maintain jump - any premature failure results in a misjump. Misjumps can take any amount of time/travel any distance as randomly/fiat determined by Ref.

I make no linear distance and time correlation as this is not the nature of the mechanics with time be relatively constant regardless of distance.

IMTU jump works by forming a ‘ballistic’ wormhole. In addition to the spacial displacement the ends of the wormhole are displaced approximately one week apart. Because it’s ‘ballistic’ jump masking only affects the end points … but if there was a radical shift in location the time is unaffected. So, for example, jump too close to a black hole and you could emerge to find you haven’t gone anywhere (but it still took a week).

In a “d6 weeks” misjump your ship acts like a skipping stone, partially emerging after a week only to jump again and again and again.

More datails here.

Oh, I like that bit! Consider it stolen with credit and much appreciation (if I ever get to run a game again).

The 1D6 weeks for a misjump is CT Book 2 btw for those wondering.
