I don't think so, and it would seriously (probably) suck for the website as it grinds to a crawl trying to serve up any spider you used.

No fund drives please. Seriously its hunter's responsibility to keep Coti going not the fans responsibility. All that paying would do is bail hunter out of that responsibility and maintain the illusion that QLI is still being actively maintained because by renewing the domain you are also renewing QLI's web presence.

I think everyone else has done enough to try to keep this place going. Valiant effort and all that, but I think its time to let go because Hunter doesn't seem to be able or willing to make the effort to do it himself. And as i said its really not our place to do that for him.

It's not a case of bailing out Hunter, it's a case of rescuing this site. Not for him, for *us*. COTI is bigger and more important than Hunter or QLI.

Yes, it could be very frustrating in the future knowing that so many topics and questions from newcomers on other boards being answered by, "there was a thread on that very subject at COTI..."

I think i remember the last time the domain was idoc and some friendly forummember renewed the domain. I have no clue as to how to do that this time but i am willing to chip in some funds to do that to keep the board alive.
I am rarely posting but would consider myself a passive lurker who enjoys the big amount of information here.

I'm willing to chip in too, though I would be happier to chip into another CotI that was no longer linked at all to QLI/Hunter & was independently run by the members.
It is easy to set up and run a new forum (I'd help & I'm sure a lot of us would) but how could we do that without losing all the history of threads here? We can't, so we/someone is going to have to bale this site out again, and again, etc.
(The other options are to cut and run losing all that or somehow buy this site off Hunter, not going to happen is it?).
