Welcome to the new COTI server. We've moved the Citizens to a new server. Please let us know in the COTI Website issue forum if you find any problems.
We, the systems administration staff, apologize for this unexpected outage of the boards. We have resolved the root cause of the problem and there should be no further disruptions.
I have one that I picked up from some where, but don't remember where. I also haven't really tried it out since I use T4's various systems. From the quick look I did at it though, it looks like it works. Let me know where you would like it sent.
For High Guard, you may want to try the High Guard Shipyard program by Andrew Moffatt-Vallence. One link to it is (scroll down a bit): http://www.asbf58.dsl.pipex.com/BITS_website/
Andrew's program is not a spreadsheet (if you are specifically looking for that kind of interface), but it does a marvelous job of automating HG ship creation. I highly recommend it!
I know I have seen spreadsheets for LBB2 ship creation, but the LBB2 sequence is almost too easy to benefit from automation in my opinion. Automation for HG is quite helpful, and for the other sequences (MT, FF&S, etc.) is almost a necessity.
I agree with Robject. No offense to anyone, but BK2 design is so straitforward that all you'd need to do is make a simple 'accounting table' setup. Use Excel's formula format to keep a running count of total weight and cost as you add components for the different areas of the ship. IIRC, there are a few examples of simple and complex spreadsheets to be found over at the Yahoo Groups CT-Starships list. You have to subscribe to the group to access the files, but it's free and easy to do. Besides all the useful discussions that have gone on there.
Here's the JavaScript I wrote ten years ago. It ain't pretty, and I don't even think it's right. It does things that Book 2 isn't supposed to do... and it doesn't do things in an orthodox way. And it doesn't do weapons!
So it's not really any help for you, I guess. But I thought I'd post it for amusement value. And mine. On second thought, I may actually tweak this a bit. Hmmmm.
My goodness... it's some unholy combination of Book 2 and High Guard. And it seems to work. I'm going through the code to see if there are any obvious bugs.
The drive volumes are per High Guard. In fact, it seems to be rather more High Guardian than Book 2. So it's not Book 2 after all. That makes sense, because there aren't any drive charts.
Hmmm, I bet I could adapt this to my Technical Architecture scripts... hmmmm.
Is that the one that I did a few years back for High Guard? It might be convertible to Excel. The zip archive includes a version in Excel format that I exported out of Numbers, but since I don't have Excel I can't tell if it will work or not.
