Medical Cruiser

Comments:

+ I'd go with standard cutters, they give you more flexibility, i.e used as a tug, firefighter etc

+ Any chance to make this beast faster in N-Space? Or maybe a "non jump" version for local ports/systems

Standard cutters are too long, the medivac cutters need to be able to get to tight places, like a city block. They are also the "Fast" part of the Xenophon. The cruiser alone is a sort of disaster relief hospital/medical base. Plus, I didnt design the standard cutter but will do the evac one today.

It could enter a system, deploy cutters (who do triage work on scene) ahead of it, allowing for the xenophon to get into a good position to land and setup. Triage can be setup in the Cargo Bay and the Cutter Bay at either end of the ship, then he patients would be admitted into wards (each with two sickbays, a lab, 10 low berths 10 autodocs) then into dual occupancy rooms for extended stays. Any ward could be an ICU.

Cool design! Is there a link to all of your others? On to the commentary:

I know it's a hospital ship and all. And I know that we like to rely upon the inherent goodness of our fellow men.

But...

It isn't armed and it's chock full of TL15 medical equipment and consumables. It would seem to be a prime target for pirates and planetary insurgents.

Does it get deployed with DesRons or light CruRons and therefore protected by light fleet elements? Or at least a Gazelle or two?

That would be a calling for good Escort Pilots. Anyone fine with raiding or attacking an unarmed hospital ship should deserve a good Lasering for sure.

It is less a goodness of humanity thing and more a practical thing. Disaters in space would be a common occurance, just have a look at our own little planet for a small taste.
