Mercenaries in Gateway

Now, I remember that the Kursis Charter Campaign (you know, the free one by MJD from this website) mentioned a couple of mercenary groups. So that percolated with several other things until I saw this section.

This question is probably more for hunter, MJD nad the Gateway authors, but are there any mercenary companies/ships/groups in Gateway, or am I gonna haveta wait until the Gateway Sourcebook is published?

The Jastrin Mercenary Corporation is more or less the armed forces for the Mercantile Confederation. They are also a major player in the MC but there are some other merc units in the MC.

I'm really liking the possibilites with the MC, though I will likely add IMTU a weak backbone of "old families" descended mainly from the original Solomani founders. And some Tong/Triads.

Okay, there are mercenaries, but are there details? Or are you going to tell me to wait and purchase the Gateway Sourcebook (which I would anyway, once it's published)? Well?

There aren't any solid details of loads of merc companies, just some rough details spread throughout the book. There are some merc ticket adventure outlines.

So yes, there are merc in Gateway, but not details of merc comapnies in the PDF of the Gateway sourcebook (the fial print I don't know about).

At one time, we did talk about a detailed publication on the Famous Merc Units of the Gateway Domain.

In the meantime, some of those units were used in the Starfall Cluster book.



For more details on that one, you have to wait for the Starfall Cluster to come out.

Sorry, misunderstood.

Gateway doesn't give detaild of specific mercnary compnies, though there are some references here and there.

Like elsewhere in the Imperium, there are all flavours of mercs; any you want ti invernt can find a niche.

76 Gunmen is indeed a decent resource. But hardly "all one will ever need"..IMO. Without tipping too much hand, there is a TA in the pipes <the works, etc> covering mercenaries in Traveller.

Other references..look for the upcoming product Starfall here..<innocent look/shameless plug for T20>. One or two such units are contained within.
