Hello Folks,
I thought I'd point out a minor "murphy-ism" that you might find humorous...

Did you know, that if you take a drive unit from Book 2 and place it in a Z drive unit, and place it in an 800 Dton hull, it can take 20 hits of damage before it is rendered "destroyed" in the ship hull. But if you place that same Z drive in a 600 dton hull, it can take 21. Oddly enough? If you place that same unit in a 5,000 dton hull, it can only take 4 hits before it is destroyed.

Fancy that. It always takes up the same volume in each of those different hulls, but it takes less damage to destroy the drive than in any of the other larger hulls.

I have to wonder - did T20 make the same judgement call or is its ship building rules different enough as compared with CT's book 2 rules?

Nope, it isn't destroyed until its letter is reduced from A to nothing.

A hit in combat reduces the drive letter, which may reduce the performance number.

It only takes 4 hits on a Z drive in a 5000-ton hull to stop it from being able to move the ship, but it takes a full 25 hits to destroy the drive.

In the 800-ton ship the Z drive stops functioning after 21 hits, but it takes 25 hits to destroy it. Its performance degrades as it takes hits and its letter rating is reduced.

Sigg - when you're right, you're right ;) Call that a goof on the level of using High Guard too much :(
