Welcome to the new COTI server. We've moved the Citizens to a new server. Please let us know in the COTI Website issue forum if you find any problems.
We, the systems administration staff, apologize for this unexpected outage of the boards. We have resolved the root cause of the problem and there should be no further disruptions.
There's a decent diplomatic adventure in the alien adventure book (Alien Realms?) that GDW put out to support the alien modules. I'm at work, so I can't give you the title, but it's the one where the Zhodani and Imperial diplomats are competing for trade rights.
Another decent adventure which could work with diplomatic or gunplay is in the back of the K'Kree alien module. A crippled Vargr corsair turns up and takes a K'Kree hostage, demanding a working ship to get away in. The PCs, being the only other ship in port, are obvious choices. I've run that one several times with good results each time.
I don't have the CD, but I'm assuming both books are on it.
The adventure in Alien Realms is called Deep Metal. As written, the characters are a Zhodani diplomatic team sent to negotiate trading rights from a neutral world (and steal a march on an Imperial team on the way to do the same thing). You could always run it from the side of the Imperial team.
The other adventure is Hostage, the first adventure in the K'Kree alien module (AM2). It's a good adventure which can go a lot of ways.
Let us know how you get on, whatever adventure you use.
I have not had time to avance much on it really, we are supposed to play on monday, but basically I am working on a personnal plot based on the players starting with amnesia and an empty character sheet (only attributes and 0 level skills from background and first career I'll choose for them), then creating their character as they get memories back in game. The plot itself should be loosely inspired from princess clone with a pinch of Argon Gambit (but I can't use Argon Gambit as is as I need players to be fairly supportive of Imperium).
And, since it's a BITS publication, it comes with the BITS task system, which is really a tool that aids the referee in converting Traveller game systems among each other. I'm not sure if the BITS system has been updated for MGT yet, though.
There is a revised version on the BITS website ( http://www.bitsuk.net/ ). There's a fault in the first paragraph, where Mongoose Traveller is mentioned twice, but I've fixed that and sent it to our web guy. The numbers are all OK though.
