Other Traveller Titles

A slight tangent, but I noticed that you (BPI) are doing Flint's 1632. Is that being redone in MGT? I'm a fan of the setting, but I can also see the typical Traveller 'mixing tech levels' fun.

There was some talk about doing a version with the MGT rules, but we havent decided yet. I am the principal author on the 1632 game and there would have to be some additions to the rules to cover the difference between uptimers and downtimers.

Jonathan, your website is a tad sparse, but... those are some really interesting projects you have there. I don't know TTA well (I know, a shame), and I hadn't even heard of 1632, but they both sound very exciting.

Why do you use the Action system for one, and MGT for the other? Because 1632 is older and Action happened to be available?

The Action! system seemed like the best thing for the first edition, but my knowledge of design has increased a 100 fold since then and I want to do something different. I think other systems might have a better ability to handle the setting now. As we grow as a company we evolve our systems and style somewhat. Its what keeps companies growing, while there is nothing wrong with the Action! System we just have chosen to quit supporting the system.

You can get started on the 1632 books for free, thanks to the Baen Free Library:
