Pawn shops in Traveller

Jasper, what is 8670309 used for? Is it the serial # of the brush? Pawn shops have to record serial #'s for everything. Or is it just the item number assigned by the pawn shop?

The silver strip and number are an adventure seed. And you should remember the song.
Any one want to take the seed and plant it.

Can't say that I remember it or I might not have asked.

As to adventure seeds, I thought that was the idea of the list anyway so anything on this list could be used that way.

EEK! Ricky don't loose that number.

EDIT
I did not reconigize it because I was listening to much different music types.

jasper also got the number slightly wrong - makes it harder to recognize. Of course, the "wrong number" could be part of the adventure....

66. A beautiful artistic replica of a Droyne head wearing an elaborate jeweled headress, carefully inlaid with lovely but alien patterns in cloisonne and gilded with something that looks like gold or silver. The head is lightweight and the neck looks like it was severed from some larger statue. Examination of the inside of the neck reveals it to be filled with a foam-like metallic material and a mass of slender wires. It can be sold at great cost as an art piece, or very low as a curio. Careful examination using cutting tools and force will reveal that it cannot be damaged by common technology (though it can be damaged using Disintegrators). If exposed to very high energy radio waves of a specific frequently, the head will seem to animate, become aware of its surroundings, and speak soundlessly. The head is actually the remains of one of Grandfather's robots and may activate the robots and weapons of Grandfather's children in certain cases or cause other trouble for the buyers.

Or, combine 71 and 72: a Barney costume (w/ robot) that will kill anyone not matching the required voiceprint.

Robots could be loads of fun. Because you never know what software might be left behind.... Kind of like getting a computer secondhand that has somebody's bank account numbers and passwords left on it.

Or, of course, it could have a nasty virus, instead.......
