Signal Gk - the Fanzine re-issue

Hopefully the re-issue of number 4 won't be too long. It is mostly done. I will try to get it done for the end of the month.

Yeoman work! Truly, another wonderful find, just like the resurrection of Third Imperium! Most excellent. I have enjoyed these three issues, although the Terror Table in issue 3 reminds me far too much of current day news items....

Keep up the good work! Good scans/PDF, BTW!

From a brief peek at Sinal-GK #1, I quite like the direction they've gone to - a quality fanzine, indeed!

Baron,

There are no plans to release new editions as I'm trying to concentrate on republishing the old editions, as time permits. However if there is sufficient interest.

Once the original issues are back out, then I may look at new stuff. Once area that we could use is Gushemege as I along with David Burden and David Lai generated a fair bit of stuff for HIWG that could easily be the basis for a couple of issues (Actually the two Davids did most of the stuff). I've also one or two ideas for using Traveller with different game mechanics.

If you've any ideas .....

We'll have to see.

Thanks for looking, Leighton.

I too love Signal GK, I would like to see the rest of the issues, sadly it has been several years since issue 4 was posted.

I'm still searching for other fanzine/HIWG documents and would appreciate any links.

I have found:
TTT, Third Imperium, Tiffany Star, AABP, KU, Security Leak and Signal GK1-4.

and of course Frontier Report and Stellar Reaches are still publishing online.

Meshan Saga has been pulled off the web, but is available on disk.
Still the Traveller Bibliography lists several more magazine/fanzines that were published, but I haven't found any re-released on the web.

What permissions do the authors grant to the rest of the Traveller community? If I write an adventure set in Dagudashaag that I plan to submit to JTAS Online, can I use the Scanians or the Jala'Lak? Can I set it in Immortality Bay or on Gateway? Can I use the map of Akiva? Can I give the party a Tansui grav speeder? Can I use the Gravatics logo? Can I let them meet Alyas Devrin? Can I quote the Library Data verbatim or do I have to paraphrase?

Also, can I mine Signal GK for articles for the Traveller wiki?

Whatever I do have permission to do, is there any boilerplate I should include in any articles or on the wiki?

In short no, you can't use any of these things unless you get the permission from the relevant author of whatever piece you want to lend material from. Neither are any of it canon so you can safely write whatever you want.

I previously had the HIWG-CD on my site, but decided to pull it after authors of certain elements contacted me to pull out certain material. Meshan Saga and material from Cargonaut. As I don't want to get into legal hassle around this I found it easier to take the CD off the net.

I just found those Signal GK issues recently and I'm tremendously impressed. I'd love to read more. There is some great material in there.

Finding those and the "lost" Cargonaut Keith stuff are my Traveller Holy Grails, and if anyone can point me toward finding them, I'd be grateful!
