So how many Squadrons are in an SDB Factor?

One thing I wondered at why no one mentioned this...

If you want to design HG based ships for battles, why not build the System defense boats using HG rules, and see if you can't play with the designs until the success odds for the SDB team is on par with the statistical chance of success in HG matches that of Fifth Frontier War?

It has been a while since I last looked at either set of rules (HG or FFW).

As it is, I started to run a campaign for two players who were respectively, the Captain and XO for a Destroyer class ship. I utilized the SECTOR FLEET TO&E for the subsector of Lunion, and played the game online using Fantasy Grounds 2 (I have an Ultimate License so that my players didn't have to spend money to buy the FG2 software themselves). I figured that this would be IDEAL for a GM to handle because the only information a ship captain has to work with, is what his sensors can gain for him. The ship I used was designed using GURPS TRAVELLER and I had intended to have some REAL fun with the scenario, where the characters will STILL in the Navy.

As ever, the use of any given game system outside of Classic traveler runs the risk that certain trade offs in other game systems could invalidate the "history" as written - for the battles at a tactical level. What burns me is that when playing the game Fifth Frontier War - the narrative of the war is not possible to duplicate using the basic rules from the FFW or HG.

Ah well, nuff said by me. ;)
