Solitaire Traveller?

I thought there was a requirement for Nav on a starship?

Am I wrong?
I seem to remember a reference from somewhere (don't quite remember where) that one could buy 'Nav Tapes' at better quality starports (Class C+ ?). Essentially these would give pre-programmed course info for a jump from one system to another. Only good for a short period of time, as navigation information needs to be updated frequently. This would be one way to work around not having a navigator on board a starship. Not ideal, but it could keep one moving without a navigator, in a pinch.

Anyone know of a good CT adventure for one? Something I can play round with by myself.
Hah! I knew there was another solo adventure in my collection. Just found it.

Traveller's Digest No. 18 has a solo adventure called "Dangerous Passage". It's a bit shorter than "Scouts Honor", and involves another scout. I guess there is something about the solitary life of a scout that lends itself to this kind of adventure. In case you want to test other things after you've finished with "Scouts Honor", S4.

I'm kind of surprised that there aren't more solo adventures around. Seems to me that this is the kind of format that is just begging for more development, especially for all those Traveller's who don't have a group to game with.

Yep, you recall correctly. Not tapes though, cassettes actually. Not cheap either at Cr10,000 x jump number and single use only. I don't think the expiration window on the use is canon but it is in MTU. I also cut the price to Cr1,000 times jump number.

I'm not sure that it would actually allow legal operation of a ship over 200tons though. The idea seems to be more of a person responsible for the position.

Now that you mention it Nick Nova I seem to recall one in a Dragon magazine too. Unless it's the one you found in TD 18 that I'm thinking of.

Thanks f-t! I'm afraid that I failed my last set of real-life aging rolls rather disastrously. Lost way too many brain cells. So the confirmation is greatly appreciated!

Cool. I'll be playing that one too.

Maybe I'll make it the continuing adventures of the crew of the GRENDEL. We'll have to see how they fare in this adventure first.

My guess is that 2 were counted for the PURCELL's max complement of 2 X-Boats in the hold, making for a total of 8 crewers.
