some very simple CT tools

so we can make a broad assumation then that
some of the jump fuel would "power up" the
"internal" systems of xboat while engaging jump?

and still be "somewhat" canon per CT?

Yep, I think so. Either that or the life support, computers, and such is run on the built in backup batteries. Built in backup batteries that are never mentioned but I presume to exist ;) And being that it's just those batteries, or the jump drive, powering those items fits the very low endurance of only a few days iirc.

okay cool FT thanks

i'll go back and squeeze it all down to 100t
again with that in mind...i can probably
get a jump 4 with some extra tons and a
jump 6 with 1-2 tons for mail....

i dont know its just me maybe, i like those
small scout ship types...

BTW
a tender should get to an xboat within 24-48 hours? batteries could last that long i agree.

Yep, easily unless the X-boat has misjumped. The furthest a tender will ever be from an emerging X-boat is 24,000km under the rules (3,000km per parsec jumped and figuring the tender is at one off target X-boat when another jumps in as far off center the other way). And the tender has 1g so it can cover 24,000km in about an hour. That's worst case, probably half that most of the time.

The more worrisome times will be when an X-boat misjumps and is:

Slow to come out so it's endurance is (or nearly) exhausted and the pilot is relying on their vacc-suit.

Or it ends up in the wrong system with no close help, or no help at all.

However I don't see X-boat misjumps happening. Not without some outside influence, like sabotage.

so far i have had only 1 objection to the newer
scout classes with that in mind i'll probably
be adding them to HIGHPORT 1.7b for the
berthed, in orbit and in near orbit ecounters...

i dont know if i will add the corsair class
but i'll add in the seeker class....

me thinks so now too.... :(

a number of folks said no...so i caved... :(

i've gone too far now if i tried to
blend them, either the program would
explode or i would....
