I'd look too. So consider me a rebuttal of the 'No conveting 40k players' post. I play 40k and would be a convert in an instant.

maybe not an instant. The game would need a heck of a lot of fan/company support to get the ... player base needed to be sustainable.
I'm actually seeing suggestions for several ancillary games.
An 'Axis and Allies' scale game, which frankly would be more like risk or Diplomacy than it is like most miniature or tactical battle games.
A 'Chainmail/Necromunda/Mordheim/Snapshot' scale game that would pit squad sized units against each other.
And Super Striker - Which is more a 'Squad Leader' or Warhammer 40K Epic scale than it is either of the above. Any and all would be likely products for me. (on top of the NON Collectible card game being discussed elsetopic.
