T20 Armor; combat environmental suit

Blue Ghost

I'm looking to make a combat environmental suit for T20 with some hardened plates for the torso, leg and knee areas of the wearer. The rest is merely ballistic cloth.

Any suggestions on how to go about this?

Hi Ghost,
If whay is in the book doesn't cover what you want, what you are describing to me sounds like a hi tech version of cloth armour. Think of the full suite you see swat teams in. If you stick with the AR/AC values for cloth in the book, you can get a high tech version by lowering the bulk/weight.

I think there is rule in the T20 book about reducing weight as you increase TL above the minimun req'd to build the item, but I don't have the book with me RN so I can't give you a page number.

You could (I would probably) just use the stats of the CES and "fudge" a large ballistic shield built in (+1 to AC*, -1 to Armor Checks, +2kg, +Cr25)

* only +1 because you're hand isn't tied up holding it and it doesn't cover as well, also be sure you treat it as AC and not AR)

I don't have T20 so bear with me.

It sounds almost like you're marrying a CES + Combat Armor. If you think it's feasible, then simply chart the hit location and apply the armor that's appropriate to that location.

If combat armor is too much, then use a flak jacket or it's equivalent and go from there.
