Not open for further replies.
Page 414: no distance listed for orbits 0-1-2 (but is listed for 3-4-5-6)
Page 416: no distance listed for orbits 6-7-8 (but is listed for 9-10-11-12)
Page 418: No distance listed for orbits 14-15-16 (but is listed for 17-18-19-20), 13 not even labeled.
So 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 16 not given distances.

272: Layout change

Page 272 is a left-hand page. There is a callout box at the top-left of this page (delineated by thick black lines). There is also text under the callout box that is a continuation from the previous page.

When a user is reading page 271, s/he will have to flip the page and then pick up the text. But, the text won't be at the top of the page, making it harder to pinpoint by eye. By this time his/her eyes are already sore from reading (), so this might be good to avoid.

To fix it, just move the whole callout box down, and move the continuation text up to where the callout box was. That way, when the reader flips the page, the continuation text will be right where they expect it.

272: Typo in callout box

On page 272, left side, in the callout box, 5th paragraph, 3rd sentence:

The sentence reads "... the ship gently lifts off, rises tto orbit, and then ...". The duplicate t should be removed in the word "to".

284: duplicated words

On page 284, left side, in the Naval Rank Hierarchy paragraph, first sentence (after the semi-colon and then the comma) the words "supervised by" are repeated.

281: Typo

On page 281, left side, the top line, there is a space that has been moved from just after a period to just after the capital P that should start the next word. It reads "... with gravity fields to produce thrust.P erformance ...". I suspect it is intended to read "... with gravity fields to produce thrust. Performance ...".

Spacer/Navy/Flight .... Soldier/Army

The career seems to be called SPACER (p 61) for reasons unknown. There are numerous places that still refer to a career called NAVY (e.g., p 41) and a branch called FLIGHT. It's really unclear what the intent is here, and I found myself searching for these instead of SPACER.

"Eneri automatically Begins service. He must roll Soc or less to select Branch (roll 10 or less; he rolls 7) and chooses Flight (a Flight School graduate does not automatically receive Branch= Flight)." (p 46)

Likewise, there's a SOLDIER career, but earlier text in the C section refers to ARMY.

p45, Acquiring Skills : "Space-Soldier-Marine Term Skills" should read "Spacer".

p46, Continue

NEVER MIND, ALREADY COVERED ON ERRATA LIST

There's confusion between Mandatory Continue and Changing Careers.

Mandatory Continue suggests that the player MUST roll 2d6, and if a 2 appears, the character is required to Continue.
Changing Careers says that this Continue roll may be avoided entirely.

This doesn't make sense. If you choose to Change Careers, you won't make the roll, so you can't get a 2 on it. If you choose to Continue, rolling a 2 doesn't mean anything, because you planned to Continue anyway.

323: Typo

On page 323, in the wider text section, in the paragraph titled "Gravity-Based Maneuver Drives", last sentence, the word "refer" is misspelled as "refere".

334: Typo

On page 334, right side, in the paragraph titled "Courselines", in the first sentence, inside the second set of parentheses, the word "Drives" is misspelled as "Drievs".

347: Incorrect word

On page 347, left side, in the paragraph titled "Redundant or Alternative Systems", first sentence

I think drive should be changed to plant at the end of the sentence.

347: duplicate words?

On page 347, left side, in the first paragraph of the "Power Systems for Starships", after the colon.

It currently reads "P-Plants, AM-Plants, Fission Plants, and Collectors."

I think it would read better as

"P-, AM-, and U-Plants, and Collectors."

Also shorter.

Alternatively (but not shorter) would be:

"Power, Anti-Matter, and Fission Plants, and Collectors."

339: Missing asterisk?

On page 339, in the table at the bottom, there's a note

*technically =Safe Jump Distance

However, there's no asterisk in the table for that note to refer to.

338: Typo

On page 338, left side, in the paragraph titled "An Orbit within the System", first sentence.

The word "extents" is used, but I think it should be "extends".

355: Missing word

On page 355, left side, under "The Process" section, line F.

I believe the word "for" is missing between "control panel" and "each".

355: Missing space

On page 355, left side, in the callout section titled "DEPLOYABLE SENSORS", in the last sentence of the first paragraph, there's a space missing between "location" and "of" (it reads "locationof").

359: Transposed characters

On page 359, right side, in the section titled "TWO SHIPS USE THEIR SENSORS", in the 2nd paragraph, first sentence, the end of the parenthetical phrase has the space and the ) transposed. Reads:

(Mod +1; S=7 )currently

I suspect it should be

(Mod +1; S=7) currently

359: excess verbiage

On page 359, right side, in the section titled "TWO SHIPS USE THEIR SENSORS", 5th paragraph, the last sentence reads:

..., it is clear that there is nothing out there (or nothing has been detected).

the bolded words and trailing parenthesis, IMO, are not needed. It would be shorter as:

..., it is clear that nothing has been detected.

39: Honors paragraph missing

On page 39 (I think) there should be a paragraph telling how to earn Honors. It's missing. It was on page 71 in version 5, top-right area.

Page 265 - Small craft table

The notes column in the SMALL CRAFT table is blank. There are no listed notes, but the notes at the bottom of the SMALL CRAFT table exist, and match those of the FLYERS table on the same page.
