Has anyone ever read the story The Demolished Man by Alfred Bester? I read the wiki description of the society in the story and it sounds a lot like Zhodani society.

Has anyone ever read the story The Demolished Man by Alfred Bester? I read the wiki description of the society in the story and it sounds a lot like Zhodani society.

IIRC the espers in TDM were a lot more capable (in terms of how much they could use their powers each day) than the psis of Zhodani society.

Yes, I have, a long time ago, bit of an odd story, but I would not compare it to Zhodani.

The Demolished Man is a great read, might I also suggest The Stars My Destination by the same author as it might also pique the interests of any Traveller players and referees.

Hmm, a fair amount of "Psi" talents in that one, and "Jaunting" would add all sorts of ideas. Just have to decide what it takes for interplanetary jaunting.
