The End Begins...

Because that right there isn't frightening, right?

Holy crap, this that damned exo-skeleton. OTOH, it sure does look cool, until we add the ballistic covering, helmet and weapon system, then it will really look like BattleDress...*shudders* Thanks, Coliver.

Shhhh,

You might have forgot about the organic samples that Cyberdyne did not have access to
You might not have realized who was funding Cyberdyne in the movies and making copies of his data base that he did not know of.
Also Cyberdyne was not the only individuals who were running tests on the parts.

Surely, sir...

You don't mean to impinge on the great name of the United States Air Force, right, I mean otherwise, I might have to call my sister's husband and have him come and show the might of the F-16 Fighting Falcon. Good thing for you I don't like my sister or the AF much. :p

Of course the US Military (and the Zoomies, in particular) was doing other studies and of course they dumped dude's HD every night when he logged on the CyberDyne Mainframe, I mean why spend all those millions (billions?) if your not going to automatically back up all the important work done so far in multiple DBs...hey wait a minute, are you suggesting that the USAF helped Skynet set itself up in a bunch of alternate sites?

Well, sir I am not saying anything, but if you would only consider ...

(crash, breaking window)

Uh, just a second.

(From another room)
Hey, get out of here before I shoot.

(pop sounds of grenade pins, sounds like a airhose got loose.)

Oh, take that. (bang, bang, bang)
I am not going (cough) with out (Cough) a fight.

(Sounds of body hitting the floor.)

Computer is disconnected from the internet.

I actually feel better knowing that it's a British program(me) than an American one. When the Yankee Skynet goes up, I'm sure there's gonna be nothing between the rest of us and Sweet Oblivion but about five minutes of prayer time. On the other hand, no British Skynet will ever get to within five minutes of full implementation before The Doctor and his Bird of the Week show up to pull the plug on it.

(a running gun battle draws nearer. )

(Slowly, very much out of breath, Dave come back into his house. Not much has changed, just a few more layers of dust.

Booting up the old Pentinum computer, wondering if his other friends are still alive.

Mumbling under his breath, "That will teach those black suits not to mess with me anymore.'
While still waiting for the old computer to warm up (tubes you know) he checks over his vast arsenal of weapons to make sure that he still has more guns than IQ points.

12, 14, 15, yep that all of them.

Noticing the computer is finally on line. He sits down to talk to any who would listen.)

Oh, vera funny Dave...um...Dave?
Sorry, sometimes a very stupid moment comes over me. I try to have a good laugh or 3 when ever I can. I figure that you can't see how funny you are then you sure as shouldn't be talking trash about others.

I sorry, G. you are slightly mistaken. IF the computer was truly British then you are correct, it would have never happened. But since it did happen, IT Must Be American Made, (or atleast assembled here.) And since the Americans are to blame for every problem there is in the world, Skynet did the only thing that made sense to it. Take out America. After all the movies would lie to us, would they.

I think they are doing it intentionally.

They are deliberately using the names of "hardware run amuck" in their business.

But... are they trying to ridicule the public fear of AI machines... or giving tribute to that which they are trying to create?

Nah, just capitalizing on the "name" and scoring web hits :)

I think it manages to throw off the timeline so Cyberdyne is never the threat, instead it arises somewhere else...

;)

Is this for real...*checks Calender* nope, not even close to April. *whew*

So, Don is this for real or what?

No... I said it was my greatest fear. I don't fear the Terminator future. I fear what Uwe Boll's next project will be.

Things Uwe Boll could screw up:

Katherine Kurtz's Deryni series
Honor Harrington
Traveller
David Eddings' Belgariad

Things I want Uwe Boll to work on:

World of Warcraft, the dramatic epic miniseries for TV
RIFTS I, II and III (all at once)
Twilight II

OK, so....

Who is Uwe Boll?

And nice to see a mention of the Deryni. I too read, long ago, and I think I might have to pick this Harrington that every seems to talk about, what's the deal with it?

I've heard (all bad) of him, but never seen his work (to my knowledge, so many low quality movies it's possible :) ) to judge for myself. He's a German producer of movies, generally from video games, panned by game fans as not true to the game.

Uwe is also noted for not being popular with the IP owners, either, as he's notorious for not granting them any veto over his ideas.

He's also an arrogant ass, at least according to his vlog entries.

...do you guys ever wonder why it took 3 sequels to do the obvious sequel ?

You mean actual* judgment day? Post apocalyptic? At least we got to the threshold in Rise of the Machines :) (but it doesn't look like this one will quite track from that one).

* as opposed to the inappropriately named (first) sequel?

Personally I think the first one stood best on it's own. I don't think a sequel was planned (or needed*) until they had a box office hit and the first sequel was just a money grab, not that it was a bad movie, well not real bad ;)

* in general I dislike sequels, make the movie right the first time ;) and stop there!

I thought Judgment Day was weak. An obvious cash cow from the word go. But a fun escapist way to kill some time.

Rise of the Machines however had something more. Not a great film, but I liked it better than JD. Quite a lot better. But then I'd had a long cooling off period before I actually saw it (a couple weeks ago).

Will the fourth installment live up to the hype? Who knows. I probably won't like it as much as the first, that would be unexpected on several levels. I do expect it to be entertaining, and if it actually does some character development and has a story (bits of the preview hint it may) then I will be happy :)
