The Hard Copy JTAS?

Jacqual

SOC-12
With the release of the Hard Copy JTAS issues from Far Future, as I live in Canada and not the U.S. do I order via the international or the U.S. As I would really like to order them but I dont care to pay shipping costs of more then what Im ordering. Does anyone know if i can order the domestic or am i going the overseas route?

Just got my 3 vols. JTAS in the post today. They appear to be in good shape. I was wondering, though, why the third volume does not have a numeral at the top right corner as the first two volumes do. Curious.

EDIT: My only gripe is that the paper used is very thin--almost like newsprint--and the ink bleeds all the way through to the other side. It just makes it a bit harder to read.

I've only had the chance thus far to scan quickly through the volumes to size up the content. However, I did spend time reading an article in the third volume that caught my eye on Military Academies. In an otherwise well-written and entertaining article, there were a few instances where serious, likely OCR-related goofs appeared in the text, e.g. "2136" instead of the proper "2D6" and places where "D" was misinterpreted as "Q"! Open parentheses were either deleted or misinterpreted, and two or three places where there must have been hyphens (-) were omitted, making references to negative DMs look odd. With a modicum of head-scratching I was able to get around these idiosyncracies, but I sincerely hope that the remainder of those three volumes do not bristle with such egregious OCR problems.

EDIT: To provide an example....

Issue #26, p. 25:

AS=(2xEDU)+QxINT)+SOC

Now, is that supposed to be (DxINT) or (2xINT)? I'm inclined to think the latter, but elsewhere Q is the result of misread "D".

OCR is fun :) I've caught a few myself when cut and pasting, and probably missed some...

I'd go with (2xINT) as the likely correction for that one. Maybe someone with the hardcopy can confirm.

If it's not too late and you tried Marc but haven't heard back, per the website it looks like $7 for the first item and $1 for each additional. No guarantee though, I'm just going by what the shopping cart says. You pick your country and update the order for the shipping cost. That's how it worked the last time I ordered and there was no problem.
