Far Stars; Makon's World
Date; 212-1101
Sporadic reports of clashes between Droyne units and K'Kree expeditionary forces are unconfirmed. The two species have never been natural enemies, or at lest no more so than any relations any other sentient has had with the K'Kree, but hostilities have reached a new level in this unsettled reach of space.
Reports of piratical forces and other mercenary units (licensed and non-licensed) being hired and employed by Droyne holding companies are unconfirmed. Since this region of space is beyond Imperial purview, the Imperial Investigative Agency has seemingly kept a hands off attitude, though leaks from the local duchy confirm Imperial Naval intelligence is actively gathering information on what could be classified as a private war.
Droyne metropolitan centers near the area are said to be seeing a new boost in the military caste, all the while construction of light combat capable vessels seems to have increased many fold. Again Imperial Intelligence and Naval Intelligence have kept an official hands off attitude, but local nobility with private forces are expressing concern, and have asked for Imperial Naval reserve activation.
As usual, there is little news forthcoming from K'Kree space other than the usual pacifist rhetoric often espoused through official K'Kree media outlets. Independent journalists operating in K'Kree space do report a heightened mobility of both merchant and military forces being directed coreward from the K'Kree's coreward holdings. Large mainline units are reportedly massing in several key districts.
All indications are a power struggle for a large empty track of space that appears to hold no value. But the IISS is not so sure, and continues to send deep probes with scout vessels to ascertain independently what might be the cause of tensions in the Far Stars sector.
More bulletins as events warrant.
