Traveller LARP?

Ok, every year I go to a local convention, and every year there's a group called SLUGS (No, I'm not kidding) that runs a LARP vampire/WoD game, and it's always well attended.

So these goths and goth wabba-be's get to have a live action game every year. Has anyone ever ran a LARP traveller game? I was just wondering it it is done, has been done, someone else wants to do it, etc.

There was someone who was trying to develop a Traveller LARP a couple of years ago. I had received two emails on it including talk about Gencon. Never heard anything further, & evidently I didn't keep the email. I have been a player in a Star Wars LARP year ago at Mediawest Convention. Had a very simple, playable system of skills based a set number of points with skills levels 1-6 (except for Force where only dead Jedi get a 6). The skills I remember were Gun, Force, Interrogation, Force & Willpower. Every weapon had the same range. The forces were Rebels, Imperials & Mercs. After the year the Mercs won, the Mercs were required to hire out to either side. I, my wife, & our friends played Mercs. Part of the hotel was set aside for the actual game during the art auction.
