Traveller Map Question

Hello all, my question is simple: Does anyone out there know what a code of F means inthe Base column on Classic Traveller Sector/UWP listings? I'm in the process of putting together a new campaign down in Reaver's Deep/Daibei, and a load of the sector data I've got hold of claims a base of F for several systems. Anyone?

Thanks,

Dave E

According to this handy copy of Challenge 26 I have, the base code "F" is the generic "Military and Naval Base". As opposed to "M", which is the generic "Military Base".

This list also shows that "J" is the generic "Naval Base" and "V" is the generic "Scout/Exploration Base".

Those four are the only generic bases listed. By generic I mean not one of: Imperial, Vargr, K'kree, Hiver, Droyne, Aslan or Zhodani. I have seen "M" and "J" used, primarily "M" which was probably the original "generic base" symbol (e.g. for the Sword Worlds in the Spinward Marches).

BTW, this list is from 1986. It is current through Alien Module 7, and just before MT begins.

Hmmm, combined Scout/Naval base looks like my best interpretation then. Given that this info is for Daibei, and is mostly for worlds with Imperial allegiance codes I guess it's just a mapping quirk of the data set I have. Thanks!
