traveller time tunnel

I have been trying to come up with a solo traveller game. One that didn't follow the common method of either trading or being a mercenary. So recently I thought of a tv show I used to watch - The Time Tunnel. I thought that it would work well.
Basically at a secret inperium research station somewhere in the marches researches have been trying to create time travel. In order for it to work they used some jump drive physics.
A volunteer tested the device before the grand opening. Something went wrong and he, or she, got lost in time and when the energy input is great enough jumps from planet to planet but always somewhen else in time.

What are your thoughts?

My only thoughts of use on the matter are that there isn't really enough "historical" OTU material to make it different other than the lack of accountability.

If, perhaps, you use the Quantum Leap mode of "Only within their own lifespan," that puts it entirely within the detailed history of the post SRW 990's through 1120...

Good luck...

No there is not a lot of detailed history in OTU. History is painted only in broad strokes. But planets have been around for, in relation of their UPP for at least one million years. Grandfather was 300,000 years ago.
Quantum leap went for parallel universes at about the same period in time.
I might limit myself to a single planet.

Thanks for your thoughts
