Unpopular movies onboard your starship.

Anything by Frederico Fellini.

Although, in the "unwise" category would be 2001. Probably not a good idea to show it while alone in jump space for a week depending on your ship's computer.

Although going off google-search statistics, Hiver ⌧ may be uncomfortably popular.

(Okay, bad taste, I know.)

SESSION SCENE:

You chase the terrorist down the hall and he slams through the closed doors of a private movie suite off the ship's main rec area. You are momentarily blinded as you step through a 3d version of...

Roll END to ignore and continue pursuit.

given typical traveller law levels, the imperium's natural law level, and the tech levels available, it is very likely that jump time would be occupied by bureau of mental health-approved training and psychological conditioning audio-visual media.

"Homemade Videos of Jumpspace" with narration by survivors of exposure.

"How to Deal with Misjumps", with medical advice for minimizing vomiting.

I like your ideas. Sort of like showing how to survive at sea after abandoning the ship while on board a cruise ship.

One particular jump on board a luxury liner that was hosting an orthodontists convention and a local noble's bachelor party, the master entertainment hard drive was hacked by a disgruntled DDS student, and the only available entertainment was what follows....CAUTION, this is NOT a film for those with WEAK CONSTITUTIONS.

Said film played for 24/7 during the entire jump.

Oh man. I vaguely, and I mean VAGUELY, remember a blurb for Space Truckers somewhere. Dennis Hopper's target audience typically were burnt out drug cases and/or drug culture types. I'm somewhat surprised he did this film. It also somewhat reminds me of Starrigger.

Frank Zappa mentions it in his song 'Cheapnis'.

A movie about an inverted ice cream cone monster that lands on Earth. Has teeth along the bottom edge. It moves so slowly, a turtle could outrun it, and yet it was devistating the Earth by devouring people.

I remember the title as 'It Conquered the World'.

Evidently in some film prints, you can see a hand in the lower left of the screen, push the monster out of the cave.

I was wondering whether movies along the lines of Star Wars/Firefly type would be banned within the borders of the third imperium?

David

banning them almost ensures there will be a subculture perpetuating them. Might not see them on ships, but will see them in dimly lit back rooms.

I could easily see Romeo and Juliet and several other works of Shakespeare getting banned in the Third Imperium because it is believed that they incite dueling amoung the younger impressionable nobles.
