Miniatures question

I'm really curious about something: Mongoose has released a load of miniatures for the judge dredd minis game, but do they have any traveller minis, and if not why?

No they haven't (despite much prodding).

I've heard it's a license issue. As in some third party(s) still hold the miniatures license. No idea if that is true or not though. I suspect it may be more a financial decision and that the market is deemed too thin and/or covered by other products.

There is no shortage of really good sci fi miniatures available from a whole swag of companies.

Khurasan, Micropanzer, Ground Zero Games, Critical Mass Games, RAFM, Blue Moon the list goes on.

Just google them. There is a blog called Dropship Horizon which does a lot of reviews of them too.

With so many people already doing minis, Mongoose does not need to.

Well, it would be nice to have some traveller specific figs, like vargrs, droyne, hivers, etc.

RAFM still has 15MM traveller sculpts, they just renamed them. Vargr, Aslan, Dyrone, and a bunch of military. Getting some WWI and WWII 15MM figs would work well for tech 5 through 7 worlds. Old Glory and Battlefront are two that come to mind. If you want to go 25Mm the Perry brothers have a few kits of WWII figs and there are a lot of other lines. Infinity has a great selection that can be used for traveller. Some are more Jap Anm than others but all are great sculpts.
