Welcome to the new COTI server. We've moved the Citizens to a new server. Please let us know in the COTI Website issue forum if you find any problems.
We, the systems administration staff, apologize for this unexpected outage of the boards. We have resolved the root cause of the problem and there should be no further disruptions.
Sure Jim, it can hangout with my Arisaka, and garand Bayonets too, might not even be ashamed to on the same wall with such fine company, along with the claymore, the Catskinner, and the polearm collection. 5 Cr. for tha hassle, I'll spend as much in S &H for the rest. Your big, but you ain't the postman.
Hey Liam.....i found these old letters in an empty locker....all addressed to you tied togather with red ribbon.....who is Shotgun Sally??....and why does she keep talking about some nite in Star Town???......
For hundreds of years, we have had good steel with which to make complex blades - and those that are actually used by expects tend to be fairly uncluttered - for lots of good reasons.
Look at the Sykes Fairbain commando knife (English SAS/Paras) the American KBar, Bowie Knives etc etc Everyone one of them is a functional piece of equipment which is intended to get the job done and to survive mis-use.
Lots of movies/shows have impressive looking weaponary - but functional is all that matters to getting the job done. If the job involves intimidation then having an intimidating weapon might be good - but this is rarely the role of a knife.
As for stats for a Klingon blade - I would give exactly the same stats as every other bladed weapon of about it's size. If I had Klingons in MTU I would tend to give the weapon very religious overtones - for example:-
i) If you aren;t a Klingon and carry one, Klingons you meet will tend to take it off you
ii) A proper Klingon duel should be determined with these knifes rather than any other weapon
iii) The etching on the blades is added to each generation when it is passed on to the next - tells a story and proves identity - possibly high tech klingons add ID tags into the weapon - so they can actually prove ID (leads to the "I want to visit a bank, have you seen my knife")
Has any one seen the new fabled, mysterious, ROO or Joey....combat, Throwing Knife...they can throw it.....take off a head and the damn thing FLYS back to them!!!!.....lands at their feet...ready to use again!!!!.....really Scary!!!.....especialy when there sining their Battle Cry.....Waltzing Matilda!!!! on Bag Pipes!!!!!
Tell you somthing else....them "pouches" can carry a Lot of different weapons!!!!....especially GRENADES....cause they like to to fight Close IN!!!!......
