Does anyone know the extent of Pentapod civilization?

Hi!

The general consensus of the 2300AD community seems to be that the Pentapod gods are concentrated on their homeworld, way up at the far end of the Pentapod Finger. The Pentapod god's bullets are everywhere, doing as the gods will.

What other holdings do the Pentapods have? Do they have colony worlds? Do gods live on these worlds? The idea of the Pentapods as a species with a civilization effectively limited to one planetary system doesn't sound right to me, or is that me?

Later,
Randy

They have several colony worlds and resource worlds. Most of the systems in the Pentapod Finger have some sort of Pentapod presence, though it would be all "bullets" and other constructs.

The "small moon" that the humans first encountered seems to be a God-ship. It would be a large water filled stutterwarping sea.

Bear in mind, Pentapods are sea creatures, you may not necessarily know they're there (cue crashed ancient Pentagod ship in the Pacific Ocean.....)

Ahh, but how do they make more "gods?" Wouldn't they just grow a bunch of them on the colonies?

That's unknown. One theory is that the "gods" being effectively immortal, do not make more "gods". However, given that Pentapods (the bullets) are essentially self-aware sperm, there was likely breeding of "gods" at some point in the past, and this ability has likely been kept.

The question then would become "what are the ovae?"
