Is it just me or is there less information at FF than normal? I can't find a link showing what is on the CT CD or, for that matter, any information on any CD listed as available. TNE and T4 no longer have any information available, no note to the effect that they are will be available on CD. The JTAS CD has no information.

I know what is supposed to be on the CT disk, likewise the MT disk, the JTAS etc but someone coming new to FF will not have any information.

It just seems a bit... counter-intuitive for a sales point. It's not like you pay for pixels by pound, information should be there. Information that was there should still be there.

Unless it is a corporate decision, in order to minimise "distractions" from the hype for the upcoming release of MongooseTraveller and the mythical T5.

After all, each person who buys the (far superior) CT material is most likely one less who will buy the newest rewrite of the universe/rules.

How much have you seen / heard about thye new Mongoose Traveller? Even on their site the information seemed a bit too sparse to pass judgement on... have to admit after buying most of the T4 stuff I'm a bit shy of a "new" release.

That could almost be used to describe the FFE website's normal state. Over the years I've seen all sorts of useful pages appear there for a while, only to disappear later for no reason.

Anyway, since I already have all the currently available Traveller CDROMs I went and bought the 2300AD CDROM. The "more details" button took me straight to Paypal and, after paying, the return link failed (mixing cdrom.html with cdroms.html). However I did later receive a confirmation email so thats something.

So, it does appear you can still buy the CDROMs, but other than that the site is as badly organised and maintained as it always has. Which is ashame because it is unnecessary and I suspect it has put off some potential newcomers to the game.

Hemdian, if you remember, please post a follow up when you get the CD - I was seriously thinking about getting the 2300 CD, but I have been a bit wary of late. I'd like to make sure they are indeed fulfilling orders.

Thanks!

I'll try and remember, though I'm not expecting it to be fast (international, over the xmas period, etc). But I don't think the confirmation email was automatic so I'm confident ... he's fulfilled all preveous orders.

Okay, the 2300AD CD-ROM has arrived. It includes PDFs of both Traveller:2300 and 2300AD with all the inserted booklets, all supplements and adventures (including "Operation Overlord" which was published by 3W under licence), the map, Star Cruiser, and 83 relevant Challenge Magazine articles. It also has the surviving material on "The Game" which GDW used to map out 300 years of future history, an RPGA tournament, an unpublished manuscript of a Pentapod adventure (with lots of crossing out and scribbled notes), and three newsletters. Finally there is even a True Type font in the style of the 2300AD logo, a letter from R Talsorian Games to Marc clarifying the term 'cyberpunk', and a couple of Word documents about the Kafers. Quite an impressive bundle actually.

Nice! Thanks for the update - I think I will be placing an order this week! :)

I always remembered the 2300 material as a great place for ideas and inspiration, even if I didn't play many 2300 games. I'm glad Marc put this set together.

I ordered the T5 CD as soon as I heard it was on the way. I hadn't really considered the 2300 one but it sounds really good. I'll have to give it a thought.
