I'm having Fith Frontier War maps printed

warwizard

SOC-13
My copy of Fifth Frontier War was destroyed by mold and bugs so I'm replacing it.

I just downloaded the PDF from drive through RPG and am having the maps professionally printed by the 3 color process it will only cost me a little for each extra one printed, you'll still need to buy your own PDF to print your counters, but if anyone wants an extra couple of maps so they can run double blind games send me a PM and I'll send you the maps. Yes I know about the Vassal module for FFW, but I just love having the physical board and counters.
I expect to have the quote from the printer next week so this is a limited time offer once the maps I have printed are gone, they are gone.

Oh, and this is FREE I am not selling them, it costs some USD 200 to USD 300 for the setup and then a small incremental cost per page printed, so I'll only be out the incremental page cost for an extra 20-30 maps I expect to be asked for. I figure some other lovers of the game should benefit from my sunk cost of printing the maps.

In case you are wondering, I checked before posting this, Marc has given permission to post this.

Are these maps based on the scan from the CD? That scan looks a bit worn at the fold.

I was not going to take one, but I think I will.

I have an unpunched FFW. I'll feel better about playing around on this one.

He has not asked me for copies, and yes these are scan based PDF files, the original maps were ahem apparently not digital.

I will call for addresses once I have the prints in hand.

My question is whether it's the scan off of the FFE CD or from some other source. The CD scan is nice, but as I mentioned there's some fold marks in it.

If you can get a good scan then edit in the hex number for each world box that would be great.
That is the one thing that would make the map much more useful. I inked the hex numbers in by hand with a drafting pen the first time I tried to use the map to play, made the play go much faster.

Fifth Frontier War Map

I am in for a map as well please!

My T5.09 campaign is only a year and a half Imperial Calendar away from prosecuting the war.

Thanxx to you and Marc for making this available

Ok, I rattled the printer's cage again today sent them the PDF and this time they really will give me a quote, last call for map requests for Fifth Frontier war. Those that have requests in , might think about sending me your shipping addresses. These guys used to print for Steve Jackson games, 4 color print on 80# paper with matt finish.

did you ever get the maps printed? I can't get anyone to print anything off of the ffe cd-rom I bought.

if you did, did you ever set up the double-blind game?

The printer I bought is still in it's box (weighs about 90 lb), have to do some de-cluttering of my gaming office. The visitors left yesterday, so getting the room straightened out and setting up the printer is next up.

Well...

When you get then done, I have to get you my new address.

The furniture item I was going to use for the printer stand as disappeared from the house's inventory. (Adult children helping me "clean", "he does not need this 37 year old printer stand...") So a sturdy unit with a 24" by 24" top, shelf and a drawer is the next requirement.

Getting laid off from my job on the 25th, so having to devote some cycles to job search/prep/studying.

Ditto on the good luck in finding a job. Here's hoping you find something that you enjoy!

Oh, and check your inbox, tried to send my information and it bounced due to full inbox.
