I'm looking for references to sources where various OTU military units are detailed or noted.

I'll update this initial post as info trickles in.

For examples:

SMC = Spinward Marches Campaign
FFW = Fifth Frontier War book

Two things...

One, isn't it supposed to be the 4518^th Lift Infantry Regiment.

And, what about Navy units? I mean there is in the SMC the 154^th Battle Rider Squadron, as I recall, and I have Striker II on .pdf somewhere too, and it has some more units, do they count?

43rd Provisional Army (Efate). JTAS 9

JTAS 8 (in the TNS files) calls this the 43rd Provisional Frontier Army.

The TNS entries on page 6 of the FFW book cite the following units:

1197th Separate Light Infantry Brigade (engaged on Efate's northern continent)

Third (Provisional) Frontier Army on Efate (probably a typo - referred to later as the 43rd Army)

317th Air-Mechanized Brigade (one of 11 brigade-sized units on Efate in addition to four there previously that were un-reported)

OK, but what about Striker II? Is that valid, what about defining the sources allowed, or at least some guidelines.

Yes. Canon sources allowed.

The greatest source of Imperial units is FFW. Some years ago I tried to find canonical mentions of units that weren't represented by FFW counters. I remember finding one, and I can't even prove that (I carefully made a note of it, but I can't find the note now ;-)

Mind you, that was mostly CT sources. My guess is that there are more to be found in MT sources. You could also see if you can find any in Invasion Earth and in T20 sources and extrapolate their future Classic Era position and in TNE and extrapolate back to their former Classic Era position.

Be aware that there was a shuffle of fleets between the end of the 5FW and the beginning of the Rebellion.
