Scout Beret

Most Scouts I've played and in the last decade do the Slip Suit thing, you just top it with a utility vest, BDU pants when need be and a long coat or BDU top or something else depending what's called for. if they need to go Soft-Vacc safe they pull up the hood with their eyes closed till they can get their mask and gloves on, for Hard-Vacc well there are multiple outer suits racked up all over their ship and ready to dive in to.

as for covers, Bill Caps and Berets are extremely popular, as are Giggles (Bonnies for our American friends), and the occasional soft Kepi

I'm American, and I have no idea what either Giggles or Bonnies are.

Bonnies are the oversized beret-like hats of women of the late 1920's and early 30's. Most notably Bonnie Elizabeth Parker (as in Bonnie & Clyde)

Giggles turns up a knit, tubular bodied, flat crowned, narrow conical brimmed hat. I'm not confident it's correct...

A Boonie (spelling mistake first time around) is a rip-off of the Giggle Hat, or Australian Bush Hat.

American Special Forces started wereing them in Nam bacause they liked the ones ARVN troops where wereing , ARVN saw the Aussies Giggle hats and recognised how practical they where and adopted them.

On the cover of the old Mega Traveller referee screen is a scout with a tan beret, draping to the left.

I always pictured scouts wearing black berets for some reason, but maybe that's more a military thing.

Opinions?

Trainees maybe or on base. I'd expect them to dress how they liked as soon as they left the base.
