Not sure if this is the right area for this, but here goes.

Has anyone considered putting up Traveller based areas in various social netowrking sites? A friend commented on the idea and said she'd be willing to layout a Traveller-style imperial palace or a starship and maybe make some Imperial fashions on the IMVU site.

Would anyone be interested or care to participate?

I know someone did some concepts for various ships using The Sims (a Suliman and a Broadsword class ships I recall). BUt social interaction in a 3D environment might be interesting. ANd with all the 'furry mods' out there, Aslan and Vargr are possible. I doubt k'kree and Hivers are in the mix.

Any thoughts? Ideas? Comments?

I seem to recall something about Traveller on Second Life. I have neither the time nor the inclination - nor the compute power - to get involved in "enriched" social sites, so I can't speak from experience - but I do admit that it could be a useful idea.

If someone wants to write an article - with screenshots - about Social Networking For Traveller Fans, I'd be glad to print it...

Far Future Enterprises has a group on Facebook. Is that something you'd be interested in or were you talking more for role-playing/more interactive purposes?

More toward the RP and socialization aspect. the Facebook group is a nice way to get news, but I was thinking something more in the interactive arena. Playing out the imperial palace interactions or something to that effect.
