Starport Encounters

A topic dedicated to all sorts of encounters at starports.

To get started: A group of adventurers looking for a starting or new ship, they would need to go to a shipyard and a bank; also deal with the ship seller and bank loan officers.

Could deal with hiring vessels, being hired by vessels, booking room on ships. Also the locals in a port: shop owners, port personell, world natives at the starport on business, and etcetera.

An adventure seed: a local "street worker" who has stumbled upon a huge secret (or thinks that he/she has) and gets the PCs either very angry or in deep trouble...
 
I am working on TA: Travellers & Citizens - which will contain a variety of NPC's and encounters - a number of which will occur at Starports.

But seriously folks, I was thinking the encounters would be quite vague skeletons that can be used anywhere, not really detailed ones like G is doing.

The problem is that a number of these NPC's are going to be generics and some of the more interesting ideas I have seen posted resemble those that I am writing - just worried about accusations of plagarism.

Liam - I will post some of the "cast-offs" when I have decided what I'm going to cut.

Don't feel bad, Merlin - I was working on a Starport Supplement that MJD cleared. I think that one is most likely gone completely after Ports of Call gets published.

Mythmere! I hadn't a clue. really this is a surprise.<honestly>. I wouldn't give up on it, if I was you. IF you feel this is going to supersede it, I'd check with da Boss, were I in your shoes.

we should probably have Vargr and Aslan merchant crew templates (like in the THB) - I already did an Aslan crewfem on another board (Enemy superstore). Vargr wouldn't be long to add. Would be interesting to put in a Virushi spacer, too...
The THB covers most of the other types that would normally be found in a starport.

yeps, good thinking Mythmere..good thinking. And mayhap a K'Kree crew too if they dinnae have Gateway <a shame on them if they don't! But stuff happens>...oh..sorry, shamless plug there.. :eek:
