Starships

Sorry, the next ship is not a party buso_O
What is the next ship ?
Sounds like some kind of research vessel. Maybe something in the 2,000 dton to 10,000 dton range.

Sounds like some kind of experimental ship on a new gravitics-based propulsion system. It would need a backup drive system as well.

Sounds like some kind of weapons testing platform ship with a new gravitics-based weapon. Mess with an enemy ship's maneuver drive from a long distance. Keep a ship from jumping. Cause a particle or meson weapon to misfire.

Could you repost your Zhodani Shivva-class frigate? I recall you did that (and I still have the images of the fighters that came with it), but it vanished with the old art gallery...

For the fifth frontier war, maybe another Zhodani ship, like the Vlezhdatl? :)

In their pursuit of greater knowledge of the universe; private, corporate and governmental concerns conduct their research throughout the galaxy. While the findings of their research may be beneficial, the results may be of much greater consequence through the creation of products, jobs, markets and profits. Therefore, large investments are made to finance the requirements of research projects. The nature of many of the projects created the need for mobile research platforms. The 400-ton laboratory ship is one of the vessels designed to meet such requirements*3*4).

Tomorrow, I have to go to Germany on a business trip as a real traveller for 1 week.
I'm very anxious.

Watch that law level! Don’t take any gold coins from Vargr with pirate ear rings!

KUGASHIN CLASS LABORATORY SHIP TYPE-L

The Type L class Laboratory Ship is a highly specialised starship for civilian research. The laboratory ship is built to transport scientists and their equipment across the stars in order to conduct research, usually in remote locations. The ship itself is fitted with highly advanced sensors. A special feature of this ship is that it is built so internal gravity can be created by spinning the hull. This is done to permit experiments to be carried out that might otherwise be affected by the gravitic plates installed as standard on all ships*5).

CROSS SECTION PART A OF KUGASHIN CLASS LABORATORY SHIP TYPE-L

Using a 400-ton hull, the laboratory ship is a mobile research and development station used for commercial experimentation. The ship has a performance of jump-2 and 1-G acceleration. The fuel capacity of ninety five tons is sufficient to support the power plant for twelve months and allows one jump-2. A computer Model/2 with software package is installed adjacent to the bridge. No turrets or weaponry are normally fitted, but two tons of space have been reserved for later installation of fire control equipment for the ship's two hardpoints*3)*4).

It would be awesome if you were able to take that ship, put it in orbit around one of your planets, and then just animate it slowly spinning. Should be one of the more simple 3D animations you could do. It would be stunning I think.

What's the diameter of the ship?

Thanks comment.
33m: main deck level diameter of the Ring.
36m: fuel deck level diameter of the Ring (+1.5mx2 fuel deck depth).

Excellent, especially the cut-away view of interior spaces with non-rectilinear edges and orientations.

Thank you.
