Stealth on vehicles

so I'm buidling a vehicle. And as I look through the design rules, I don't really see anything on how to 'stealth' a vehicle. Of course, I'm using the T20 rules.

Maybe I should look in FF&S for some inspiration.

Does anyone have any ideas of what kind of vl/power req's that might be needed and needless to say, cost of stealthing something.

Throwing it out there to the gearheads. Go go gearheads go!

Dorothy: "My, what large feet you have!"
"Why thank you."

Did you see the Chameleon Armors on page 236 in the vehicle build chapter? That's about all there is stealth wise in official T20. It can be scaled up for ships too (unofficially at least).

D'oh!!

d'oh! I guess I missed that.
Hmm...I guess that is the closet thing to stealth.

Hmmm...*thinking*

GURPS Vehicles gets into this. I think it takes all the types of categories into account:

visual
audio
radar-absorbent materials etc.

Also, I was just looking at Striker Book 2, under Electronic Detection and it has some very broad rules for ECM with Thermal Imaging. There might be more in other parts.

I will have to dig up my striker book, if I still have it and see what it says.

Essentially what I want to do is stealth a security-bot.

Not sure why, I just want to see what it would cost and how it might be reflected in game terms.

Thanks for pointing it out! I appreciate it.

Makes perfect sense to me, and if it's for T20 then the Chameleon Coating should do the trick nicely, if you plan to make it at high enough TL of course. Budget wise it's pretty cheap for the benefits. Design wise it takes no power or volume so it is easy to add.

I wonder if you could program it with skills like Combat Engineering (camouflage, using and finding), Hide (for stealth movement), and Move Silently (if not grav powered) for more advantages?

Essentially what I want to do is stealth a security-bot.

then you want GURPS Robots, I think it's $9.95 now <wink, wink>

anyway, they have a whole section on Camo + Threat Protection, which involves mostly stealth on the bot's armor...

Chameleon surface (including "intruder" which is like the Predator invis field.)
Holocloak
IR Cloaking
Radiation Shielding
Reflective Surface
Sealed
Stealth + IR Cloaking (radar absorbent)
Thermal Superconducting (for HE weapons + energy weapons)
Waterproofing
