T-20 e-zine

Mythmere

SOC-13
Would anyone be interested in receiving and/or writing for a free T-20 / Sci Fi e-zine? Any ideas for a title?

If this project has enough support from the T-20 community, I'd like to focus on T-20 rather than other sci-fi games, b/c I think T-20 is the best out there, and I'd like to see the game supported on a par with D&D (though that might be a bit of a large goal). Still, the more grass roots activity on the game, the more popular the game will be. Which translates to ensuring that the publishers remain profitable and in business; publishing supplements for us to use and core books for the new players to buy without a hassle.

Topic-wise, I'm thinking of the same sorts of topics as TAS, but much shorter; I don't want to provide competition for the published materials but I think a lot of refs would like access to some free materials to round out their game sessions. NPCs, equipment, and patron encounters spring to mind as the main headings.

I'd be interested, both as a referee and as a contributor. You are in competition with Freelance Traveller, though. Eventually, once COTI gets back to updating their articles regularly, you'll find competition there, too.

Best of luck,
Flynn

Interesting idea, but as some others have said, there are already a few out there. Maybe it's best to pool the resources instead and contribute to those 'zines that's already there.

Not that I want to stop you from trying though. There can never be to much material about Traveller, can there? :D

I'd write: maybe we could have a running article on the Trojan Reach???

I don't agree with the competition point - If I remember the CT era, there were loads of zines that all added their own flavour. I can't see why that doesn't apply now.

I don't know of any others that exist out there. I'd be interested in receiving it, but it's easy enought to write for QuikLink and you get paid for that, so I wouldn't contribute official stuff. Perhaps it would be a good place to raise non-OTU ideas, or stuff not well enough developed for a Traveller's Aide.

I'd be willing to do a small amount of writing here and there, mainly of stuff that wouldn't be published in official products.

We now return you to your regularly scheduled thread.

Hmmmm.... I wonder if there's a planet called, 'Mornington Crescent' anywhere in the Imperium. There could be a game in that...

I would be more than willing to post my reviews and "non" official T20 stuff (ie stuff I don't get published). See also the following thread on the CotI boards: web page

Chee-ahz!, mate!

Like I said (returning the thread to topic
) if you want any art work for the zine, my time is limited but I'm sure I can rustle up something for you.

If, tentatively, the ezine came out monthly with a couple of NPCs, a couple of pieces of equipment, and one or two patron encounters, would you sign up? Or would you pass on it?

Crow, thanks a million for the offer, but I think an ezine shouldn't have artwork: it is a problem for some peoples' email.

Title?
