What Alien Races do you allow for PCs?

That's always tough. I saw my merc ship captain act that way when he saw his first capital ship.

Suprised, that I have no real Alien contenders. I suppose you should see it as luck and enjoy it. Players will always destroy the environment they're in. Its natural. Defining the relationships are tough for you. They don't have a lot in common.

He wants to play the strong quiet man behind the MAN sort of character to whoever naturally becomes the PC spokesman. He is also going to play the character with an eye toward being very obsessed with his caste role - very focused on martial skills etc...

Flying ... ugh. I dread that from ref point of view.
 
Droyne require Low Gravity (0.75G or less) AND Dense Atm to fly. (Or 0-G and thin+ atm..., or VLow G , say 0.1-0.25 and std atm, if you want to expand it a little)

Any higher gravity, or thinner air, they don't fly, they glide. The thinner the atm, the lower the glide ratio. The higher the G, the more it hurts....

and falling damage isn't reduced unless they can glide effectively (ie, one gravity category or atmosphere category off from ideal), since the hollow bones are less resistant to torsion and off axis loading than more solid non-flyer bones.

For most worlds, it is a non-issue. Their movement in 0-G should be flight, tho... if they have 0-g skill. (I give all flyers double skill reciepts for 0G skill, but NOT for 0-G Combat.)
