  • We, the systems administration staff, apologize for this unexpected outage of the boards. We have resolved the root cause of the problem and there should be no further disruptions.

Who are we?

Do you feel the love in the room? ;)

Name: Jamie
Location: Tampa Bay Florida - via Arkansas
Occupation: Architect
Favorite Version: GT with elements of T20. I just never was a big fan of level based games. I use all versions of Traveller though for game aids and ideas.
Least Favorite Version: TNE
Favorite Supplement: Traders and Gun Boats, way back when I was but a yoot!
Favorite Race: Human, Non-Human is Vargr
Favorite Sector. Spinward Marches
Favorite thing about Traveller: The most complete, somewhat believable universe for sci-fi roll playing. The only game system I know where a PC's can create his own ship design.

Least favorite thing about Traveller: A lot of the rules and "feeling" of Traveller still retain the 1970's feel. Laser rifles with extension cords for instance... But most of all, the rules Nazi's that can stifle role play and imagination. "You can't do that because on page (enter page number) of supplement (enter supplement) released on (enter date) says that you need 1.21 gigawatts of power. That type of drive only produces .97 gigawatts of power.... blah, blah, blah...

Name: Michelle Klein-Hass. Thareen Penumbra was the name of my favorite character back in the day when I was actively gaming 20 some-odd years ago.
Age: 41
Country: Solomani Rim/Sol Subsector/Terra/Los Angeles District/near Van Nuys Starport (VNY)
Favorite version of Traveller: Original Recipe
Military Service: Are you kidding?
Favorite Supplement: Oh, for another copy of the Big Black Book. The LBBs I got from eBay will have to suffice. I like Citizens of the Imperium, and I am REALLY liking the materials that Marc Miller is putting out now with Traveller^5. Looking forward to seeing where that leads.
Favorite Sector: I am not sure which one it was, but it was something out of Judge's Guild. Non-canon stuff.
Favorite Race: I did like the one Aslani merc character I came up with who would take out her whetstone and sharpen her dewclaw when she wanted to emphasize her badassed-ness. Nyaooow. =^_^=
Favorite Empire: Hmmm...back in the day, the Solomani were the good guys and the Imperium were, well, an Evil Empire. Too many viewings of Star Wars movies, I think. However, once I start GMing again, the roles are going to be reversed. The Solomani could make really good nasties, think Nazis from '40s-era B-movies. I have this idea of Strephon taking sick and being put in Stasis in hopes they can find a cure...someday. There would be a string of "Regents" after him. Think the recent history of Saudi Arabia, where they kept King Fahd on life support and Prince Abdullah was King in all but name.

Favorite World: Tartine (A homebrew very arid world, with the scent of Tatooine, except with a southern polar ocean 15% Hydro, flying predators, and the local crime lords are sort of a Medellin Cartel, that smuggle spice a la Dune. Sort of. The first planet I ever finished with Grand Survey, took me a week to detail it all out, many, many moons ago.)
