Corsair ships

That is a little clumsily expressed. Someone who took offense easily might conclude that what you were saying here is that if we disagree with your logic and reason it couldn't possibly be because we didn't think your logic and reason were sound, there had to be some disreputable explanation.

I trust that's not what you meant to say, right?

Also, some people might resent the implication that CotI etiquette resembles average Internet etiquette. We tend to pride ourselves of maintaining a somewhat higher standard.

Hans
true....
At no point have I felt people were posting opposing views, opinions with no logic or reason behind them... which is extremely rare on the internet.the fact everyone has a good bit of courtesy, and put some thought into what they post, has been noticed. It is one of the reasons I stopped lurking and spoke up.

It's a little hard to properly express friendly, good humored, sarcasm in print........ CoTI is one of three or four places I decided were worth posting to.

The emoticons are very helpful in expressing tone, if you are unsure how a comment might be taken.

CotI is actually the only place I post to, and for the very reasons you mention above. I can have an intelligent, adult, and respectful conversation with the members here. It is well moderated and has a core of mature people among the regular posters who generally give thoughtful consideration to what they write before they post it.

I've noticed Traveller in general tends to draw a different crowd than most RPGs. Since it does not create optimized uber-men who can dodge bullets and kill people with impunity....even the ships tend to require some thinking on the part of the players to use to best advantage.

even the subject of this thread forces players to scramble to use the ship successfully and work to improve it to face increasing threat levels.
