First attempt at character gen, wondering where I went wrong

I got 5.10 just before Christmas, and went through character generation. I am looking for pointers, as I am unsure if I got it right. I have not played Traveller in at least 30 years, still have the "little black books" but love the game.... Please tell me where I went wrong.... (this may be a wall of text)

Some die rolls were not recorded ( brain farts / forgetfulness)

DOB: 008 (year undetermined) I based the day on the day of the year I started (08/01/20).

Muster.... Benefit - Ship share
Benefit - Ship share *** I did screw up and have to remove 2 muster benefits as I had taken two too many, I think I got it accurate..... I hope.

At this point I am wondering if it is a good point to call it, and adventure. (not that I can) Or if as I had planned, to do a term in the merchants or two (gotta make those credits)

Also, when does a character start ? I do not remember seeing an age. I am thinking college could be at 16, as this would make sense from a real world perspective.

Any pointers would be great, and thank you in advance for offering any.

Does look like a much more highly skilled character than from what seemed possible from the original, but makes sense.

And yes, I have not taken knowledges as of yet or particular fighter (firearm) skills, these can be decided upon if I work out the wrinkles.

Have a good one Travellers.....

Let's see if I can comment...

You should still complete the fourth year even if you can't graduate. The last year can still provide a skill level.

There is no limit, and you can explicitly attend education in later terms, see Later Education, B1p59. Attend as many colleges as you like.

Flight School is not simultaneous with the college, it requires graduation. Flight School can be attended the first year in the navy term, see "Flight School" B2p62.

Flight School is education, so can't provide Skills, only Knowledges, see sidebar "The Knowledge-only Skills" B1p63. Since you can't get Pilot skill you have to choose Small craft, ACS, or BCS knowledge instead.

Flight Branch is automatic if graduating Flight School, no roll necessary.

Skills are rolled after risk/reward. Each skill roll can be selected from Personal or any operation performed during the term, so for each roll a table is selected. E.g. you could roll all four skills on Battle table. See Acquiring Skills, B1p65.

Very brave to take a bravery mod with the risky Mission.
The mods on the Risk roll are reversed on the Reward roll so:
roll ≤ CC + mods = 12 + 2 + 3 + 2 = 19 for success, so automatic success.

Yes, an unmodified roll of 9 (+1 for officer) awards a MCUF and a +2 mod on promotion.

You were commissioned last term in NOTC, so you should roll for promotion this term. With the bravery mod and medal you have a good chance.

With one term in the Spacer career you only get one mustering out roll (you need a MCG or better for more). You can't re-roll unwanted results, but if the Jack is inappropriate for your campaign I would allow it.

Also, when does a character start ? I do not remember seeing an age. I am thinking college could be at 16, as this would make sense from a real world perspective.
Start at age 18, see B1p89.

The Citizens of the Imperium app is currently following T5.09 rules. I've just started working on it to bring it up to T5.10 (haven't looked at the changes yet). Because of the limits of the iPhone interface, it only works on an iPad. I plan to add Dark Mode support and a text export option for completed characters.
