Great alien creature.

Not quite alien enough for most of my players. They aren't paleobiologists, but they get around, and they'd probably recognize it as related to trilobites. Then they would probably just fire up the barbie and see if tasted any good* ;)

* well I would, but then I've had characters who'd try to eat anything over the years, most (in)famously, Troll in a D&D game, tastes like chicken but you gotta cook it very well done...

...still, nice creature idea iron warrior, you should stat it out and post it in the Contact forum :)
 
Sadly, they would recognize or not care...those who would not care...have not seen the original Alien, as they were not yet born...or were only 3 when Aliens Resurrection came out...
 
I am not of the same opinion as the others.

I think it is pretty alien. Just because it shares some features, does not mean that it has to be a cookie cutter. In fact it is easy to use such familiarity as a vector of surprise.
